Catching Up

It's late, and I'm tired, but I feel the need to blog! I had a really good weekend, and a good Monday as well, with more Good coming in just 5 more days. :) So, as far as how the car shopping with the DiSH went, it wasn't bad at all. We drove a mile or so away from home, where he had been scouting earlier, and pulled in to a small little dealer place, which had 3 mini-vans for sale. When the DiSH found out the prices were $2000 to $3000 MORE than what he expected, we didn't stick around! Sort of amazing, because he usually takes his time, talks and talks, all the while knowing he's not buying from the place. That was it! We didn't go to any other car lots. We talked about it, and decided that until the tax return is actually in our bank account, there's no sense in looking at vans that we can't buy, if the deal was good! He has a good idea though, and I'm anxious to see what comes of it: He has been looking at vans online....some that are 1000 miles away or so! We are thinking that buying a van from the south, (Consumer Reports says that the year 2006 was a good year for mini-vans, and used is the way we are going) would be smart, because they haven't had to live 3+ winters in the north, driving on salt-covered roads and spring potholes! Is this just wishful thinking? So anyway, we are now just waiting....I'm trying to be patient!
Saturday we spent the whole day with the christian youth group, Pathfinders, at a Bible Bowl, following church. I am a co-leader of our small group, and the only one, along with the DiSH and one other parent, to accompany 8 youth to the Bowl. We had studied the book of Genesis for 2 months, preparing! The kids did GREAT. I was amazed at how well they know thier Bibles. Little Man and Girly Girl spent the day with my sister. They did well. Mr. Smarty Pants is one of the 8 that went.
Sunday, we went to some close friends' house, where my carpenter husband gave of his time, to help hang sheetrock, and guide our friend as he is creating a new room for more foster kids. I love these guys.......I love friends that when you're there, it's like you're home. Check out the frig, take care of each others kids, snooze on the couch! I love it there. And what's neat is that their daugther is the same age as Girly Girl....their little one is the same age as Little Man, and their foster child, and who they are hoping to soon adopt, is the same age as Mr. Smarty Pants! All of these kids get along great.
Today was Monday......I usually do the Not Me! Monday, but Not Me today!! hah!
Until next time....Good night!
