License To Drive

Well, he did it. He took the test a second time, and this time he PASSED! My Mr. Smarty Pants is now a licensed driver of the state of Maine. Watching him pull back into the parking lot after waiting 22 long excruciating minutes, my heart was pounding a mile a minute. He took forever to get out of the car! And then he did. And I got out of the van and stood there trying to read his face. When he looked my way, I did thumbs up and thumbs down, and held my breath as he responded...with a big nod and an even bigger grin! I half walked, half ran to him and gave him a big hug. He sighed a big happy sigh of relief as he took the driver's seat in the van. It's been a good day!!
