Up and Down, Up and Down

Things have been so up and down here. Can you relate? What is it exactly, do you think? Some days I feel so in control, things are smooth, nothing can go wrong. And then the next day, I seem to have no control, things are rough, and nothing is right!

An up moment: realizing that I only have one more physical therapy session, one week from today. Yay! I feel GREAT. I stretch and exercise pretty regularly now, and am actually beginning to do something I never thought I'd do...enjoy working out! My back is awesome, and all hints of sciatica are gone. Woot woot!!

A down moment: looking around me and seeing how absolutely disgusting my house is, and no matter what I do, it never gets better. I actually told my family the other day at 2pm, NO MORE EATING TODAY! I was serious! I was SICK of doing dishes, washing down counter tops, putting away food, and everything that comes in between! I just wish that all of the work that goes into simple everyday jobs would stay that way for at least 24 hours!

An up moment: We are getting a new washer and dryer! AND...I'm getting a new laundry room too! As we speak, the DiSH is working in the other room on installing new plumbing. My new babies will be here Friday. I think I will love laundry after that day. :)

A down moment: not being able to see the light at the end of the tunnel. Let me explain: Right now, my washer/dryer are in the basement. We decided to create a laundry room, because we have just always wanted one up stairs. So, the very tiny room that has been Little Man's, is going to be that room. Seriously, this room is as big as a walk-in closet. Well, I think. I don't HAVE any walk-in closets, so I'm guessing. The room that Mr. Smarty Pants is in now is going to become LM's new room. Sooo, Mr. Smarty Pants needs a room now. The DiSH is going to build a brand new room in the basement. One thing just leads to another, which means more mess around here, and more money spent. Grr.

An up moment: The weather!!!! Yes!! Maine is breaking records left and right with high temperatures, and we are loving it! Normally the first week in April just means lots of rain, mud, and melting snow. But the snow is long gone and has been, it rained for just 3 days, no mud, and now the flowers are blooming, grass is turning green, and it's so warm out! The wood stove sleeps a lot, and we are going to have more wood for next year, and won't have to buy and stack quite as much this summer! yes!

A down moment: or two or three, or days of it.....this really is worthy of it's own post, but at the same time, I don't feel like dwelling on it either. My sister and her husband have been waiting since December for a third little baby to be born that they were ready to adopt. He was born last week. But, the birth mother changed her mind, and is giving him to her mom. Not keeping him, but giving him to her own mother. We all have such mixed feelings about this, and of course, want what is best for the little guy, but to watch my sister in pain, is the pits. Please pray for her.

An up moment: And my favorite. :) Little Man says "I wuv you Mama" about 90 times a day. :) He makes me smile so much! Today he said to me when I asked him to come here, "no mama, I can't want to!" I love the way he talks! He sings ALL.OF.THE.TIME, and if he's not quite singing, he's making some sort of noise out of his mouth!

I must go now. LM needs to go to bed, and then the DiSH and I are going to go out and watch a late movie even though we are counting pennies to do so, and it's late. I NEED some me time with mine. Hugs to you all!

  2. I completely understand the ups and downs of the day for sure!! My house is never clean for more than a few minutes at a time. It can get so frustrating that is the truth!! We just recently moved Josiah into his bedroom in our basement too and Jacob took his room upstairs. Aaron had to finish off the basement in order for that to happen too. It took him almost 4 months to get it all done but man oh man we are all so happy about it now!! :)

I feel so bad for your sister. I can not even imagine the pain that she must be going through. I am still praying for her.

  3. I'm having those ups & downs too. So frustrating to always be busy, but never get anything really done.

  4. I am totally up and down right now. I am glad to know it is not just me :)

I would like a day or two of just being caught up and not feeling torn in a million directions!
