Veggie Tale Not Me's

Welcome to Not Me! Monday! This blog carnival was created by MckMama.
Ahh!! I am beginning to love Mondays a little more, now that I can air some "dirty" laundry and feel a little free! I know there are enough Not Me's in my last week to number from 1 to 100, but my memory is not keeping up. Probably a good thing, or I'd feel like crap! :) Here we go...

1. My oldest is a vegetarian. He won't eat anything that once lived. Correction, that once had a brain. He informed he does eat things that once lived, because plants live mom, duh. For supper last night, I quickly popped some Pizza Bites into the oven, added the left over carrots and broccoli from lunch, and for dessert, fresh strawberries. Mr. Smarty Pants and Girly Girl were quite happy with this supper. I was hurrying, because the DiSH was putting Little Man to bed, and after all had eaten, he and I were going to "escape" for a Mother's Day supper for an hour or so, up the road at a favorite chinese restaurant. I love that Mr. SP is old enough to stay home with the other two for a couple of hours now! Anyway, when Mr. SP said, "mom, there IS PEPPERONI in these pizza bites..." I did NOT tell him "no way, the package says 4 Cheese" and then tell him to eat them, we were NOT wasting food! "Its just tomato bits" the DiSH told him. A quick look at the bag in the garbage can confirmed what I knew, and that was that I had bought a bag of 4 CHEESE pizza bites, not pepperoni! The DiSH took a close look at Mr. SP's plate, and said, "yep, just tomato bits...eat 'em". So Mr. SP did. I took a look, even ate one, and instantly knew that there WAS pepperoni in those pizza bites.....yep, little perfectly cut square pieces of "tomato bits"!!! So, I did NOT just pretend like I didn't find that out, and let him eat them anyway, nope NOT ME! (Kimberly, don't you dare tell your nephew!!)

2. This morning on my way to my mom's house for a little breakfast and a little visit to also give her her little Mother's Day present (no time yesterday, and we were actually looking forward to extending the holiday by a morning!), I did NOT stop at the local drug store and buy her card a day late, hoping and praying that Mother's Day cards were still available! And then, when almost to her house, I did NOT realize that she would know I had just bought the card, and didn't have it ready the day before, just in case we saw each other, so I did NOT stop at yet another small store and did NOT buy a package of pens (didn't sell singles) for a wonderful big 'ole price of $4, so I could sign the card in the car, before arriving! Card? $5. Pens? $4. Look on mother's face when she opened the card and read very mushy-loving words? Priceless.

That is it for today. I'm thinking I'll experiment, and this week, keep a small blog-journal filled with Not Me's, and then next week post it, and see how "NOT-ty" I am!!

Happy Monday!

  3. I can't believe you did that to MY vegetarian nephew! Sounds oddly reminiscent of our childhood when our uncle made us eat pepperoni, too. Shame on you. This is bribery material!
