Pre Pig-Out Day and Names...

Today is Pre Pig-Out Day! Mmmm, I can smell it all already. :) My kids are home from school, and right now I am sharing a piece of toast with my 11 month old, Little Man. I like how in some posts I've been reading, people have nicknames for their spouses and kids. This blogging thing is very addictive, relaxing and healing, and as I read more, I learn more! So, from now on I'll try to remember to use the nick names for my family. My husband is DiSH (Dear Sweet Husband, added the "i" to make the word "dish", because to me, he's quite the yummy dish!). My 14 year-old son will be......Mr. Smarty Pants.....can you guess why? Yeah, didn't you know? All 14 year-0lds know it all!!! My 9 year-old daughter is Girly Girl, which is my everyday name for her anyway. She's the girl in the middle, she's all girl, and I am so thankful for her, even though we are still out-numbered! And I'll be......hmmmm....this isn't so easy! I've seen Big Mama and McMama. How about Mrs. Spoon? As in, the DiSH ran away with the Spoon?! ha! Not quite...well, if anyone has any ideas, let me know. Naming myself isn't so easy!

So back to pre-pig-out-day. I am really excited this year, because last year at this time, I was pregnant and had gestational diabetes, and couldn't eat whatever I wanted, even for one day! I asked my doctor: Just one day?? And she said, well, if you want your unborn baby's pancreas to work overtime for him AND you, then go ahead! That's all she had to say. I ate unsweetened apple crisp while everyone else enjoyed the pies! Don't get me wrong, I'm not always all about food! It's something I enjoy cooking and baking, presenting, and yes, eating, but especially on this day. So its on to baking now, I've got 2 pies, one sweet potato pie, lemon bars and cookies to make!

Okay, so Little Man needs a nap now, Mr. Smarty Pants needs to do some of his laundry, and Girly Girl is patiently waiting to make her very first CheeseCake out of her own Better Homes and Gardens New Junior Cook Book. I'll try and remember to take pics, so you can see her success!!

  1. Happy Thanksgiving! I love the nicknames you picked for your family, and I think you should call yourself mrs spoon, that's adorable. Your blog page looks really good, I like what you've done with it and I really like the pictures. As for laughing at my post, I was hoping by writing it that someone could see the humor in it, so I am glad you could. Some times all you can do is vent and then laugh about it...and making someone else laugh helps too!

  2. Hi Lisa!! You found the haystacks huh? We love em too! Funny how the name "haystacks" is another SDA name. When I mention it everyone thinks I'm talking about the confection people make with chinese noodles, chocolate and peanuts! Anyway.....yes I do work for the Isaacs. I do their website and blog and I travel with them when I can. I do alot of other stuff behind the scenes too. I am going to do 2 weeks with them to help out on the Gaither Christmas tour. I'll be setting up and working their product table. I have a full time job. I work as a financial counselor in a hospital so I don't get to travel with them as much as I'd like to. Are you familiar with their music? Their blog is isaacsinsiders.blogspot.com Check it out!!
I have always lived in NC. It's a beautiful place to live.

    Blessings to you
