A New Job and No We Don't Eat Mr. Potato Head!

Life is so crazy right now! But I'm actually loving all of the excitement. Guess what?? I just got a new job! Yeah, like I just have so much time for that in my life, ha! Well, it's perfect actually. The school that my 16 year-old goes to called me and asked me if I would be interested in a part-time job as a teacher's aid in the multi-grade classroom, grades 1-4. There are 20 students and the teacher needs help! So for two weeks, I scrambled, prayed, and talked to lots of people, and after finding childcare for Little Man on Wednesdays only (Andy will be home with him the other mornings), I accepted. :) The school board meets tomorrow night to approve the new position, because as a small christian school, we pay our selves for all teachers and subs, aids, etc. No state help! I am sure they will approve it though. So I will start next Monday! This means enrolling Girly Girl in school, and she is totally with it. She was the first one I went to and talked to when I was first offered the job. The last thing I want to do is make her feel like she is not my first priority. I still can't help but feel a little bit of guilt and failure though, because I am not following through with homeschooling. But when you pray, and you give it all to God and ask Him "according to Your will", I guess that was my answer.

I can't wait!

I will have lots to blog about, I'm sure. I love to share stories about kids. :) Speaking of a cute kid story...

I told Little Man today that we were having broccoli with cheese and potatoes for lunch. He said "playdough??" "No Little Man, potatoes." And then he said, "Mr. Potato Head?!" It was very funny!

  1. Way to go! I don't think I could ever homeschool as much as I would like to do so. Can't wait to hear your stories and that Caleb is a cutie!

  2. Congratulations! I'm sure GG will be happy to be back in school even though I'm sure she was loving the homeschool life. And LM will enjoy time away from you and spending one on one time with Daddy.
